Just because something is from a drugstore does not mean that the quality of the product has to be lacking. Drugstore makeup that works has been my current favorite thing to find when I am looking for things to include in my posts. I have found that there are some things that cost much less than my high-end makeup that I prefer.
1.) Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer $7.00
I will be that person that says that I prefer this to Tarte’s Shape Tape. It is not as heavy and I have found that it works so easily with any foundation that I pair it with. This totally cancels out any darkness that is under my eyes. I have this in shade Fair and I have been through 2 tubes of it before I decided it is one of those things that I need to have at all times. I also find that this works very well as an eyelid primer and can be easily set with a powder to make eyelids the perfect color before adding eyeshadow. You can find this easily at any drugstore and it is under $10.
2.) NYX Pro Foundation Mixer $10
When I found this at Ulta I had a moment where I couldn’t believe my eyes. I have the world’s hardest time accepecting that I am not as tan that I think I am. For this reason I had a few foundations that I have spent decent money on, that were too dark for me to wear without a spray tan. Then I found this little gem. Just mix a few drops in with your foundation that is too dark and it can lighten the shade to match your skin tone. It doesn’t change the integrity or coverage of your product either, which is a huge plus for me. There are a few different options in this range as well to add luminosity and darkness if need be.
3.) Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge $7.00
If you do not want to shell out the $20 for a beauty blender, this is your best bet. I still prefer my regular beauty blender, but I use this regularly. It works and feels similar enough that I feel like it is the closest I have found to an original Beautyblender. It has the same idea with a slightly different shape. It works best when dampen and with the water squished out with a towel. I use this a lot to blend in setting powder after applying my foundation.
4.) Loreal Telescopic Mascara $10
If you have very short lashes, this is for you. I have the shortest eyelashes and have found that I prefer a mascara wand that is plastic and really separates and lengthens the lashes that I do have. I also am too lazy that apply fake lashes everyday so I have found that this satisfies my urge for having long, pretty lashes. I have worn this for hours and have not noticed any flaking until I get to the 10-12 hour mark. The wand makes getting lashes near your tear ducts easy as well.
5) Loreal Infalliable Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation $11
I feel like 24 hours might be a bit of a stretch, but this stuff is worth so much more than 11 dollars. I have tried every single foundation that is geared towards oily skin that cost up to 70 dollars and this one is still one of my favorites. The coverage is great (medium coverage with one layer, but can be built up to full-coverage without it getting cakey). I still get oily after a couple hours with this but it certainly helps. I like that it still feels light even with the amount of coverage that it gives.
