Sephora Play April 2017 Unboxing

Sephora Play is a subscription box service that costs about $10 a month and is delivered mid-month. This is the only subscription box service that I currently receive and I am typically not disappointed. When I signed up for this service I was able to avoid being placed on waitlist because of having VIB Rouge status; however, I believe that the waitlist for Play is relatively short.

Makeup Forever Aqua XL Waterproof Eyepencil ($21) This is one of the best eyeliners I have ever tried so I was super excited to see the deluxe sample size version in the bag this month. This pencil is also waterproof which makes it very long wearing. The color that was sampled out this month is a matte black, which is very versatile. Find it here

Sephora Collection Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover ($11) I have personally never tried this product before receiving my sample. I like that it is pretty cost effective for a full-sized bottle. I did notice that it took almost zero effort to remove my eye makeup and it didn’t sting or bother my eyes. Find it here

ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment ($24) I love this stuff. I have gotten 3 uses out of the tube that I received and I am sold. This has a gritty texture for physical exfoliation and has fruit enzymes for chemical exfoliation. I noticed a huge difference in the size of my pores immediately after using this, and I am for sure going to purchase the full size version. Find it here

Smashbox Iconic Photo Finish Foundation Primer ($36) I am excited to have gotten this, but it is not my favorite primer for what my skin normally needs. I prefer to have something that controls oil a little better, but this primer is not bad and it is holy grail product for a lot of people. Find it here

Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream ($52) I believe this is a newer product and I really enjoyed it. I love Hyaluronic Acid and it is probably the only way that I would pay more than 50 dollars for a moisturizer. This stuff feels light but really hydrates without having a weird sticky feeling. Since Hyaluronic acid pulls moisture from the air, it seems to keep my skin very moisturized especially when I am using it overnight. It is a little too much to use under makeup for me personally but someone with drier skin would probably really benefit from using to use this twice a day. I will likely consider purchasing this when I need a moisturizer. Find it here

Marc Jacobs Daisy was my fragrance sample this month.

Overall I think this month’s box had a lot of staple items that I will actually use and that most people would be able to enjoy. With the exception of the primer, I have been able to get a lot of use of everything that I received this month.

I definitely like having a small eye makeup remover on my vanity just to fix eyeliner and other little mistakes. And the Sephora brand one is great.

I thought my bag was a bit of a dud with the exception of the cloud cream. I received the purity cleanser from philosophy instead of the kate somerville.

I loved the cloud cream, and I really liked using the Kate Somerville. I would have probably been disappointed if they would have switched that out for purity cleanser because I feel like I always have a sample of that lying around.
